VerifiedChaos Front Combat, Stats & Skills
Combat is turn-based and combines character stats with machine weapons and abilities. The developer has documented melee damage scaling, parry checks, instakill conditions, psionic ARMS, projectile deflection, ramming, and persistent black holes.
Melee and parry
- Pilot melee contributes directly to melee weapon damage.
- Defender melee and mech agility affect parry chance when both mechs carry melee weapons.
- Fencer, Kung Fu Master, and Lone Wolf can improve parry.
- Still Water or Spirit makes the defender parry any melee attack, per the developer log.
Instakill, criticals, and deflection
- Some units can attempt Instakill below 1,000 target HP.
- Assassin levels and some corps traditions can raise its chance.
- Kungfu and Deflecting Blow are tied to critical hits or projectile deflection.
Battlefield control
- Psionic ARMS direct Sylph Pod drones and can use effects such as domination or psionic surge.
- The late-game Blackhole Gun creates a persistent hazard.
- Units in range lose 500 HP at turn start; ramming can push units into it.
